Recommend me a book

So I'm somewhat new to photography and I recently bought a D7200 and I was wondering if someone could make a good suggestion for a book that would be good for a newbie. Something that would go over general how to as far as camera settings (as far as when to use which settings) and features to a little more advanced techniques. Really anything you can recommend if you were new to DSLR photography. Thanks!

Yeah I've found a lot of videos on YouTube I was just wondering if there was a good general dslr phptography book that would go over a wide variety of settings and when to use what settings for different scenarios.

If this book existed I would highly recommend it.

Okay, here I am as a newer member dredging up old threads! I've really benefited even as a more advanced photographer from the Scott Kelby "The Digital Photography Book" series. Yeah, it's got a lot of basics but there are some really good tips to be reminded of and that I've also learned. However, I'm not sure how Nikon folk think of this guy, seeing how he sold out to Canon! (Or was bought out??) But I really like his short, effective tips, each one occupying only one page. For a newbie, however, I don't think he really explains how to change this-or-that setting. These books are more geared toward composition and other techniques.

Jack Nicklaus famously said about golf (paraphrasing here) that it is too expensive, it takes up too much time, and it's too difficult for most people to thoroughly master.

He might well have been talking about photography as well. :)
