Excellent Learning Resource: Lynda (dot) com

While it is *not* free, I am finding Lynda.com to be an excellent educational resource for all things photography related.

Youtube videos were great for me for a long while, and I'm the first to admit you can't beat the price, but the courses on Lynda are just soooo much more. Not just a collection of cheesy amateur videos but comprehensive courses on particular subjects taught by working professionals. The videos stream in high-definition, are professionally shot and best of all there are tons of courses on pretty much all aspects of photography in general but also for using Lightroom and Photoshop. I've been a paid member on the site for a couple of months now and I recommend it highly. If you're looking to up your game, check out the site. You can watch introductory videos on most courses without having to sign up, or pay anything, while the basic paid-subscription will set you back $25 a month. That $25 gets you unlimited access to all the video courses you can handle.

Just to give you an idea of what's available on the site regarding our mutual hobby here are the search results, Keyword: "Photography".

Going to the page, I quickly went towards Group Membership. I wonder if Nikonites could leverage a better membership deal if a number of us signed up as a group. hmmmmm

Just tell him how much more money he is going to make when you become even more proficient than you already are.

A 30 day trial of Lynda.com is included in the bundle I posted yesterday :)

Which I must admit I am very tempted by... That's quite a lot for $89!

Lynda.com also offers a free "Preview Account" though you *do* have to surrender your email address...

Lynda.com FAQ said:
Preview account holders can access about 10 percent of every course in our library through free videos. Also, preview account holders will occasionally have free access to an entire course based on their interests. In addition, they can also create playlists, get personalized recommendations, view their course histories, and earn certificates of completion.

Not a bad thing to look into if you're trying to make a decision.

I have been using Lynda.com since April and I find it addicting. I have been spending at least 2 evenings a week on it and not only using it for photography but other things as well.
