Want to replace size of SD card

So, I bought a Df.... Love it, trouble was when it arrived the only SD card I could find was 4GB.
Formatted the card and then spent a couple of days configuring it to suit the way I used to shoot in the 90's. The 4GB card will only hold 80 odd images, so I bought a 16GB one.
Now there is an option to format card which is easy as but what I'm worried about is all the settings I've customised for me and there does not seem to be a "save settings" option.
So how do I go about transferring my photos (not that important) and settings (really important!!!) to my new 16GB card????

The settings are stored on your camera not the SD card, so unless you 'reset' your camera you will not lose any settings.
As for the images just transfer the ones you want to keep to your computer and/or external HDD.

Hey thanks Scott. I found a item in the Set Up menu that said save settings so did that. Inserted the new card and formatted it. Went to load settings and it comes up with "This option is not available at current settings or in the camera's current state

Any ideas?

The settings should all still be the same. They are stored in the camera not the SD card, or are you trying to transfer the settings from the D600 to the DF?

What settings are you talking about exactly?
Are you talking about sharpness, contrast and saturation settings found in picture style menu? If so, all these are only useful if you use jpegs. If you use NEF files in LightRoom or Photoshop, you can then apply all the settings to your image
style.
I'm not quite sure of what you are trying to achieve...

One more question: Why would you want to transfer the pictures from your 4GB card to your 16GB card? I'm not quite certain, but I don't thing the camera would recognize pictures that would be copied from one car to another, so I doubt it could then apply certain settings to those pictures.

Hope this helps a bit...

As typed, that will not work. Settings were saved to old card, not the new card. Read on for explanation....

I don't have the DF, but they are all similar. Your settings are all stored in camera as the others said. Just put the new card in, format it and go. Don't worry about transferring pictures, that's just wrong in my book. (but you probably could do it if you really needed to)
The 'save settings' is for if you have two DF cameras and want the settings identical between the two cameras. You would save settings to current sd card, remove that card and move it to an identical camera. On that 2nd camera, you load settings. Then both cameras will have identical settings. That's one way how 'save settings' is used. Or you can use it as a backup. Save your settings to the card, then get wild and totally change all your camera settings and try new settings. Hate it? Reload the old settings back that you saved. I keep and old 32MB card in my bag with my saved settings just in case I have a problem and need to do a full camera reset. I can get back to all my customization easily. Keep in mind if you use it as a backup like this, use a separate card. The backup file will go away if you format the card. Most of us format the card every time we off upload pictures to the computer.

Thanks guys. Worked out that indeed the settings are saved in camera so just put the 16GB card in. The settings were things in the set up menu, shooting menu, etc. Took a while to get those set the same as the old girl...
