Nikkor DX 35mm f/1.8 at Target

I tried to put this up earlier in the day, but I couldn't get it to post. When it didn't appear, the site told me I was double-posting when I tried another attempt and wouldn't accept it. I hope this one makes it.

This morning I was alerted that Target was having a clearance on the Nikkor DX 35mm f/1.8, marking them down to $60. You can go here to check Target's inventory, or just head directly to the Target website and check from there. Here's the thing though: when I went to the Target website, it said the lens cost $166. BUT, when I called the store on the phone and talked to the electronics clerk to confirm they had one in stock, he said it rang up for $59.99.

I just got back from the store...with a $60 35mm f/1.8. If you want one, I'd hurry. Many of the stores I saw in the list were already out.

When I tried to see what's available near me, none of the 20 stores it brought up had one. You are fortunate to get such an amazing price! :encouragement:

I really did luck out, I guess. The store told me it was their last one, and when I just checked the Target website there are now none listed in any of their stores in a 50 mile radius.

But you can borrow mine any time you want :)

Thanks. :) This is definitely an amazing find. B&H, Adorama, and Allen's Camera all have it listed on sale for $166.95. No doubt any that remain via Target will be snatched up quickly. :cool:

I even went to Target.com to see if any were available, but nope. Have fun pairing it with your D500. :encouragement:

I traded in my 35mm f/1.8G at the same time as my D80 body. I'm sure I paid on the order of $140 for it as a used lens without a hood. It made for a nice compact indoor event sort of setup. Christmas snapshots and the like. But I later bought a Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 zoom, I'm moving in the direction of FX format, so it did not make sense to keep both lenses any longer.
