Flash for D90

Now I am looking for a dedicated TTL Flash Unit. The Nikon SB900 is abit steep pricewises.
Does Vivatar or Sunpak make anything I can use TTL or any manufacture ?

Go with a NOS SB800 or a SB600. They do practically everything the 900 does at less cost and with far less complexity.

If money is an issue, get a used one from Adorama or B&H.

Between the two which is easier to use, the SB600 or the SB800.
I have read that the dot matrix on the SB800 can be hard to read.
Either one is affordable, just not wanting to pay for more that I wont use...ie..don't need 10 switch's if I only use 4.

I use my SB800 all the time and the only time I have an issue with the LCD washing out and being difficult to read, is in the harsh summer sun when I need fill and didn't bring the SB400.

It does more than I need and I probably should have gotten the SB600, since I don't use the remote slave system.

I will more than likely go with the SB600. It's bad enough when the camera LCD gets washed out
in the bright sun so I won't be adding to my problems.

Hey Snapshot - I split up your original thread to keep things on topic

I purchased the Bower from B&H for half the price of a Nikon SB600. Would love to have the Nikon but price is a consideration for me.

Another good option at a reasonable price and works great is the Promaster 7500. Equal to Nikon SB800 in bells and whistles but more user friendly. And roughly half the price.

Love my SB600, particularly for the price.

I have the SB-800 and SB-400 as well and have the same experience as you.

I use an SB600. Very easy to control and work with. You'll not be disapointed with an SB600 - especially for the money !
