My display goes black when I press my shutter button halfway

Hi there, this is my first post.
I got my D850 yesterday :) and I am very much looking forward to getting to know it as I know my old D7500.
I sit and struggle with setup so it comes as close as possible to my old setup in my D7500.

  1. I am used to the D7500 that when I press the fire button halfway, my large display turns on with all my info and here I can easily change the shutter speed, aperture etc. without taking the camera up to the eye. The D850 turns off the display. How to get life on display WITHOUT having to first press the INFO button?
  2. I am used to on the D7500 that when I need to format my SD card I press "format card" (in my own menu) and then press the black round button like OK. Now I have to press OK on the display itself. How do I make the black OK button "active"?
Sincerely,

Congratulations on the D850.

Another way to format your card(s).

In addition to the Format memory card option in the setup menu, memory cards can be formatted using the ISO and Format buttons(red): keep both buttons pressed simultaneously until formatting indicators are displayed and then press the buttons again to format the card. If two memory cards are inserted when the buttons are first pressed, the card to be formatted will be shown by a flashing icon. Rotate the main command dial to choose a different slot.

If it is like the D500, you can go into "controls (pencil icon), scroll down to "switch" and set it to on/info. So, you can now activate the info dislplay on the back of the camera by using the display light on the on/off switch.

1. So to be clear, you are saying the exposure info is not displayed below the picture when in live view unless you press the info button?

2. Instead of pressing the ok button in the middle of the multi selector, press the ok button on the lower left on the back of the camera.
