Well I finally took the plunge................

After 7 years of dedicated service and countless images, I finally upgraded my D700 to a D850. 90+% of the features on this camera I will never use, but the image quality is stunning and I am hoping it may be the last DSLR I ever buy. The days of the D700 are far from over, however, it will still remain as my backup body. It still has lots of life left in it!

Congrats on your purchase. I know you will enjoy it. I was going in that direction myself and after much consideration I went mirrorless with the Z6. I know that 850 is amazing. It was a tough call for me.

Further congrats! I'm new to the D850 myself, having upgraded from a D750 which I thought I was in love with. HA! I didn't know what love was until I started shooting the D850. It has proven itself to be everything it's cracked up to be; an absolute BEAST. I'm a die-hard raw shooter and this is the first DSLR that produces OOC JPG's that, with a few tweaks to the Picture Profiles, have actually made me say, "Wow...". Not that I'm giving up shooting in raw, but never before have I been so impressed with OOC JPG's. My one and only complaint is (clenches jaw) the XQD card "thing". I bit the bullet and shelled out for one but I wasn't happy about it. Other than that, I too am thinking this will be my last DSLR.
