Continuous pictures

I have two Nikon D850s. And one when I hold down the shutter button will nicely keep shooting. The other shoots only three pictures at a time and then stops. They appear to be all set at the same settings, same memory, same lenses. Any thoughts appreciated.

Settings like noise reduction, active DL lighting and lens correction will slow down the camera a lot.
Another issue might be the write speed of the card.
Are they both shooting jpeg?
EV bracketing set up?

Thanks for writing back. the settings look identical. I even tried swapping the memory cards between them. Not sure why one shoots continuously and the other does three pictures then stops.

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

I would try a factory reset on both cameras.

Press the BKT button on the front of the camera body. Do you see a number 3 show up in the top LCD? If so, you have Bracketing enabled.

This was my first thought. If it isn't that, then are both bodies set for release priority or is one set for focus priority? I think it's an option under the autofocus section of the menu somewhere for AF-C. Focus priority means you might not be able to achieve a shutter actuation if the body can't lock focus. Release priority means the shutter will fire even if the body doesn't achieve focus.

Menu setting D2 on one camera is set to 3 and the other is set to 200

Edited to correct D2 to D3.. sorry edited again... It is the D2 on the D850

The setting ranges between 1-200 on the D850
It's 1-100 on the D810
