I was in San Clemente/Dana's Point, California this past weekend, and took my D850 and the 28-300mm lens (my travel lens). We took a whale watching boat ride on a particularly small catamaran, and I got this good shot of a paddle boarder very close to a gray whale:
I would have preferred a different angle, but it wasn't up to me.
Once shrunk and uploaded, it now looks a lot more contrasty than before... I'll work on that later.
