Stuck on DX

I am normally using an FX lens, but the camera got stuck on DX when a fast DX lens was tested out on the camera and would not allow me to switch back to FX. Had to reset back to factory default settings. Anyone else experienced that before? Why did it occur? What did you do to fix it?

Just some info to what the set-up was when this occured.

I was in manual mode.

I normally use an AF-S 28-300mm 3.5G ED VR FX lens.

The lens that was tested was an AF-S 17-55mm 2.8G ED DX.

After the 28-300 was put back on and I tried to shoot at home, that's when it wouldn't allow me to switch back to FX crop setting unless I reset the camera back to factory default.

Would help if you gave us a few details like what mode you are in and what lens you are using.

I personally normally wouldn't use a DX. The guy at the camera store when troubleshooting my camera used the DX lens. It didn't automatically switch back. In fact, it greyed out the option to even change back to FX until I reset the camera back to factory default.

It is very strange it didn't. I even shut the camera off and took out the battery and took off the lens. Nothing would switch it back until I reset the settings back to factory default.

it could have been a dirty contact or some other odd thing. My advice is don't put a DX back on the camera. LOL

You have to turn off LV [ live view ] to change from DX to FX, or vice versa
