I would wait to see if the new model might suit you better. If not, enjoy the price reduction on either of the other two. Love your night photography!

IMHO with your crazy skills you should always be shooting the best gear you can afford.

Again I think Nikon should give you a D5.....

D810a. As it was only released just over a year ago, i cant see it being replaced as soon as the D810

The only thing is that they say the A version is not very good for normal landscape photography and is approx $1000AUD dearer.

I was going to vote, but the poll is closed. I'm sure that if you needed one right of way, you would have picked one up already. This tells me that you have time to wait. So wait!

Yep only had it set for a week, waiting on my tax return which I thought I would have by now. Need to get something before October as need to send my D800E away for repairs.

Cannot justify 7000-9000AUD for a camera. But if it was given to me then that would be great.

I have been away for a few days, so only saw this just now.

I would buy the D810 right now, then when you get your D800E back, sell it and your D600 and put that money towards a D810A.

My reasoning is, I think you would be disappointed using the D810A for landscapes and general work ( from what I have read online and in magazine articles ), but you would benefit having it for your nightsky work.
