D810 aperture/Live view question

The only thing my boyfriends Cannon has over my Nikon D610 is that when he is in Live View and changes the aperture settings it is visibly apparent on the LCD as he opens up or closes down. With my Nikon, the change isn't visible until you take the picture, then you see it in the playback. I think I heard the new D810 has the ability to instantly see changes in aperture settings as they are made in live view just like Cannon. Anyone know for sure? It is important to me because I do pole photography and use a cam ranger and iPad to control my settings. I'm thinking about trading in my new D610 for the new D810. Tnanks.

I can confirm that when using Live View in the D810, changing aperture with the sub command dial shows the results in the Live View screen.

D800 too. Talking Manual mode of course, auto modes simply react to change shutter speed to keep exposure the same.

I'm thinking this feature really doesn't seem to need a faster processor, it may just be Nikons stripping features to differentiate lower price models?
