SD & CF cards for D800?

So as the D800 is not really a speed demon at 4fps, and also has a pretty limited buffer I was concerned about those times when I did need to shoot some action and did not have my D3 with me. My logic was a fast card would have allowed the camera to have already downloaded the first 1-3 pictures to the card before the buffer filled up thus giving me a few extra shots before the buffer was full. Then of course also emptying the buffer faster than a slower card is always good.
But I am uncertain of the read/write capability of the processor. I will likely do a lot of large shoots and video so had to get a card that would support it. Bit I am interested in what card (s) other shooters are getting or planning to get and use in their D800's? Here was my choices I got from B&H Photo.

I am using the 95MBs SDXC card with noticeable improvement over the other SanDisk cards.
The Lexar 90MBs Compact Flash card is rated at a higher actual speed but I have not noticed any difference between the two when shooting.
The SanDisk transfers faster to my computer.
When in the market, I will get a SanDisk CF card to compare in my D800

Hi new to group.. and new to D800 I am using same cards as you.. could I ask when you format your cf card and then in you menu options select
Image quality Fine
Image size Large
Jpeg Compression Optimal Quality

How many images does your camera say you can take ( bottom right of control panel.)
Mine say 1800 which too me does not add up ? According to manual p436 a large fine jpg should be 16.3MB 16.3*1800 =2934 which given allowance for correct Byte size( 1024 as opposd to 1000) etc Thats still only a 32GB card format .. Isn't it ? or what mistake am making here.. ??

How can any camera estimate how many shots are left?
My Large Fine JPEGs range from 9-24MBs depending on subject.
It would be a lot better if they told us how much space (MBs) was left.

New here too! I think what is happening is that you might be using a DX lens instead of an FX lens which crops the photo to 16MP from 36MP, thus allowing a larger number of photos to be stored.
