Returning to photography after a 10 year hiatus - D800 upgrades?

Photography has always been a passion of mine, with a specialty in landscapes. I have tried everything from portraits, to sports photography, to macro, to photo journalistic styles. It's been great and started with SLRs in a dark room and now use a Nikon D800. I had really been on an extended hiatus as the job and family responsibilities pulled me away from enjoying photography, but purchased a D800 when it was first released to make an attempt to get back into it. Was still too busy so have had a few years pass and am now trying to assess my equipment and see about another go!

I understand the D800 may have had a few upgrades? Anything that is critical to address?

I've got my eye on Nikon with their pro level mirrorless so will be interested to educate myself in what is there today and what is planned tomorrow.

Great to be back (somewhat)!

Welcome!

The D800 is a great camera. I would just shoot like crazy with it for now. It's easy to be seduced by new equipment, it happens to me all the time. If you find features missing from the D800 after really using it for a while, that's when I would think of looking at other bodies. And, as always, good lenses mean a great deal and are often the best investment. :) Regardless, Have fun getting back into photography!
