D800 R16 Problem

I went out to shoot today only to find the R16 code show up. I know that it's a buffer indicator, but I can't get it to go away? Any HELP ?

I tried different lens, then different card, then different battery.......... no changes.

I can shoot in manual focus, but not AF.

Try resetting the camera.

Thanks Scott, I forgot to add that I tried resetting the camera too, while I was on site. Nothing changed.

I just tried resetting it again, and now everything works. Thanks for the nudge.

And I came soooooooooo close to a new D750!

This is a true story.... I had a Harley Heritage that would sputter at the same exact ramp on I95 on three separate occasions I was taking it in as a possible trade for a new one. Same ramp. I'd get off, thinking I had a problem, then it ran fine all the way home. It didn't act up again until I started for dealer.... twice more. Then I realized it was mine forever. Named her Christine after that. So I agree with you Charlie....
