I am thinking about a D800E with a little over 51,000 clicks but they are asking $2300 Canadian... Seems high to me. Haven't seen it yet, but suppose to be a 8+ camera. I would think $1500-$1600 for a camera with that may clicks. Am I way too low ? or are they fairly high?

Thats not a high level of actuations for a pro grade camera. Not sure what price they go for over there tho

Thanks Jay_dean. A factory refurb is $2400 Canadian.. They usually have less that than but I know not guaranteed..

The D800 series have a higher shutter life expectancy (200,000) than other options, e.g D750/D700 (150,000). Only the D3/4/5 have higher shutter life expectancies.

Just to give you an idea, for the same money you can buy a brand new Pentax K-1 that has the same 36 MP sensor and a 300,000 click shutter life. To me that is too much for an 8+ camera body. I would shop around some more to get a better value and and a better D800E. Just my $0.02.

That's high... That camera averages in Completed auctions on eBay with that many actuations in the $1300-1500 range...

I can see a refurb being $2400 as it would be like new with a 1 year factory warrantee. But 2300 for a used I think is too high.. Thanks for the replies.

Between just these two options, I consider the refurbished camera as a much better deal than the used camera. $0.02 worth on the house!

If you decide on a refurbished body, just be sure about the warranty. Here in the USA, we only get a 30-day factory warranty although some camera stores will throw in their own warranty through a different repair company.
