    D800 in Panjo Marketplace

    Fellow Nikonites...

There's an ad in the marketplace for a D800E being sold from Birmingham, England. Has anyone ever had any experience with this guy? Is he legit? Price at $2000 seem pretty fishy to me.

I wrote him, he responded to me about the warranty, which he said is valid in Skandinavia somewhere. I'm not too worried about Nikon, actually, as any used camera one can buy would not really be warranted at all anyway. But I am leery of sending dough to someone who has no "feedback" from anyone, anywhere.

As usual, if it seems too good to be true....

    Any input?

    Thanks.

I wouldn't get it. Sounds like someone is trying to unload a D800E with some kind of problem that needs a major repair and they don't want to pay for it.

I would look for a seller that is based in the same country as you are in. Ask the seller to send you a picture taken with that camera so that you can check out the number of shutter actuations if you still want to pursue that route.

I also agree with this. There was a UK seller who is offering D600/610/800 at almost 60% of the MRP. He advertises in India, and claims that he has a ware house in UK. He can give warranty for any country. Be wary of such sellers. The only thing you can do if you really want the camera is to inspect it at the seller location.
