Hi All,
I just got a Nikon D800E and I was using it to take some shots at a Lacrosse game this weekend. The one things that it kept doing was subject focus on hunting using multiple points. Is there a way to set the focus point so it only tries to focus on the center dot?

Thanks in advance.:apologetic:

Do you really want to do that?

For fast action, I'd think you would want the camera to constantly change focus to keep up with the action.

Using a single focus point means you'll be forever focusing, then recomposing, refocusing, recomposing, refocusing, recomposing............

I hear where you're coming from. However, the program was the camera was finding players from the opposite team to focus on instead of my team. If I have 4 players in the frame and I want the focus to be on one of the players, is there a trick to telling the camera. Hey focus on this player please..not the other guy.?

You need to buy your camera a game program so it can tell the players apart.

j/k.

I think 9 point continuous focus would do the job. You can go for more than 9 point but that works for me. It uses the centre point to grab initial focus. For slow moving or static subjects use single point and not continuous.
