My New Nikon D800

Well, after testing both the D600 and the D800. I decided to opt for the D800. I was able to return the D600 for my new D800 which I just got today. Because I am shooting primarily models in studio and interior location, I couldn't ask for a better format than that offered by the D800. Although the D600 is amazing, the D800 allows me to crop after the fact with greater confidence as well as allowing me to choose several crop formats from the onset.

The output is absolutely astounding and the AF is ultra rapid to say the least. I have no problem with the 4 fps High Speed shooting rate. Will be using for my up and coming shoot very shortly.

super,,, yes,, The D800 is a great choice,, I still like having the light meter up on the top display,, and I so agree with the extra crop ability. One almost has to train oneself to on purpose leave that crop space.. we are so conditioned to frame the shot in the camera,, and forget to leave that space for flexibility. Post some work,, in your portfolio to see some of the results!

Congrats.......! ! !

I should have mine within the next few weeks, really can't wait. I've sold all my Canon gear (5D/1 body and a couple of 'L' lenses) to do this jump, I'm pretty sure I've made the write choice.

Congrats Ben! I remember reading on dpreview how tickled you were with the D600 for your Elle shoot. I look forward to hearing how your experience with the D800 progresses.

Wow! That's a big jump also. Congrats and welcome to our growing club. The more mega pickles, the merrier! :D
