I do alot of urban landscape for fun. I was in lower east side last night giving a tutorial video on urban landscape, after the video was complete I just had to take some shots with my E!

So let me know what you think! More to come tonight. This is only 1 of many.

Nope. Just like shooting on any other dslr. Haven't really had any moire.

That's really great to hear. I haven't been in a hurry to do anything about a body. I'm content to run my D700 into the ground but I know that in the near future I'm going to get a new body and I'm pretty convinced that for my work and my eye, the D800 or D800E would be a blissful experience. Yourself and so many others I know with D800(E)'s are all giving the same feedback and the only variation is in different degrees of "stunning", "amazing", "brilliant", "holy crap!", etc. LOLOL

I like the 24-70 it's expensive tho. I also used the 14-24 Nikkor and it had quite a bit of distortion at 14-18mm. So I rented the Tokina 16-28mm, it has less distortion wide open and is slightly lighter. Only downside is slightly slower AF, and a weird AF/ manual focus ring however it is 899 vs 1899.

some of the shots i took last night were with the Tokina.

It will be amazing to see what you could do with a D800e. The work you produce with the D700 is stunning to say the least.

Thanks, Sam.

I do have one concern and I haven't gotten any solid information or feedback on this yet.

You've probably noticed that my sweet spot for working apertures is between f/8 and f/14. I've seen mention of some diffraction issues at smaller apertures, which in a way, defeats the purpose of the high resolution and lack of anti-aliasing filter. I'd love to know if this is just techno-geek talk or if it's going to be noticeable and be a problem. I haven't seen anyone saying "don't sweat it, you'll never see it" but I also haven't seen anyone showing images and discussing any problems with diffraction in real world shooting, as opposed to what the numbers and math say.

Any thoughts?

A very valid concern especially for your shooting style. I haven't had any issues so far however I very rarely venture past F8 when shooting wildlife with the D800. I will do some testing in the coming weeks using fstops f8 to f16. I will also consult a friend of mine who shoots a D800 in studio settings get her thoughts on it.

Thank you, Same. That would be great. I'd love to hear from someone that is shooting in a style or setting similar to mine. I know I'll be working with ambient light and shallow depth of field in a lot of upcoming work but I'll still be shooting at those smaller apertures when working with strobes.
