Auto AF tuning

VERY cool feature!
I just spend a couple hours trying to tune my Sigma f1.8 A 50-100mm.
The dock software lets you tune for 50mm/60mm/85mm/100mm at 4 different distances.
It's important to have the setup right with a good focus target and a good tripod, and I am looking forward to
trying this lens out now in the field!

Well, I can say that the correction numbers that the camera gives do not correspond to the corrections in the sigma dock, but if you were to half the nikon
numbers, you'd probably be pretty close. Just a couple retests through the range and auto AF fine tune is putting up corrections of 0 or there abouts
through all 16 set points! whoop!

I had the 35 1.4 and dock years ago, I found the tuning experience to be a pain in the...., I think I over-obsessed and spent too much time on it. It seemed corrections weren't true at all distances.

I am hoping to overcome some occasional frustrations with this lens.
At times, the images are amazingly sharp, and at others just "ok".
I measured a pretty good correction at the long end of the focal length (85/100mm) at short distance.
It might explain why some of my family christmas photos are just so-so!
Guess time will tell!
