Remote on Duration (ML-L3) Limit too Short

I like to use the ML-L3 Remote - a great little tool - but find I often require longer than 15 minutes for my shoots - family gatherings/night-time pics etc.

Is there any way to set the duration to other than the 1, 5, 10 & 15 minutes noted under C5 in the Custom Settings Menu?

Thanks!

I think you're going to need an intervalometer; such as a Vello Shutterboss, or something similar.

Appreciate the advice.

I do not require wireless control of flash units - just the ability to use a remote shutter release over a prolonged period of time.

Can one use flash if the Pixel Receiver is on the camera's hot-shoe?

What about the Nikon WR-T10 which connects to the camera's accessory port?

Do either of these units have a duration limitation (such as the ML-L3?

You don't have to mount it on the shoe. It's just convenient there. But it can dangle by the cord if need be.

The Pixel doesn't because you aren't setting the camera to Remote. If the camera goes to sleep, pushing the remote will wake it up, just like pressing the shutter button on the camera itself.

Additionally, and the biggest benefit to me is that it's NOT an optical trigger, it's a radio trigger, so the range is far longer than the ML-L3... I set mine up outside and can sit in the house looking out a window and trigger the camera...

Plus it works flawlessly outside, even in bright sunlight.

... He needs the camera to stay on more than 15 minutes so he can use the ML-L3 remote.
Which the Shutterboss does quite nicely. The Pixl and the Shutterboss even look strikingly similar...

To your original question, if you snap a picture with the remote, the timeout restarts. If I'm set up on the bird feeder and using the ml-l3, I'll set it for 15 minutes and just snap a useless picture when it feels like about 10 minutes has gone buy. This keeps the remote mode active for another 15 minutes. Remote mode runs your battery down pretty fast, so depending on your needs, the other remotes might be better for you. I have some of the other remotes but the ML-l3 is quick and easy.

FWIW, there are several very inexpensive interval timers (around $20 class) connecting to the camera shutter release port with a cable (NOT via the hot shoe). See for example https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Shutter-Release-Remote-Control/dp/B003Q9RERY/

or https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Digital-Shutter-Release-Replacement/dp/B005LTH7QA

The choice should say for your Nikon camera model, so that the cord connector fits, i.e., if it is 10 pin or MC-DC2 compatible, etc.

You use them with camera Bulb shutter setting, which stays open as long as the timer runs.

There are several other relabled versions that are the same unit. These appear identical to the $160 Nikon MC-36A timer https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Multi-Function-Shutter-Release-VDR00801/dp/B0090WQPFS which for the last year or two appears now offered under various Chinese lablels for around $20. I have one labeled Yongnuo, and it works great.

Received the VELLO Freewave wireless remote shutter release from B&H for $35.
I now kick myself for never finding out about this marvellous device until now!
Receiver is 2" x 1 ½"; Transmitter (Wired or Wireless) is 3" x ¾"
Great instructions but it is quite intuitive - even this old guy figured it out.
Works great...as advertised!

Thanks to all for pointing me in the right direction!
