Vello battery grip for D7500

What a joke of a battery grip for the crippled D7500. Note that this grip does NOT provide an additional camera battery, but instead moves the battery from the camera into the grip. Thus the only functional use is to permit a battery change without having to remove the grip. Also, while you have a portrait mode shutter release button via a remote shutter connection cable, you do NOT have any command wheels in the portrait mode position. This makes the grip very awkward for portrait mode shooting. Note that this comment is not a criticism of Vello, but rather of Nikon for the poor design of the D7500.

I thought I read where the D7500 doesn't accept a grip. Maybe I'm wrong? Or didn't Nikon make one to go with that body?

The D7500 does not have the connector on the bottom for a battery grip, nor does Nikon make one. The Vello is using an external cable connected to the cable release port for the battery grip shutter button ... which is why there's no command wheel on the grip.

To be frank, I dont have big hands and carrying a couple of spare batteries works for me. I had the battery grip with the D7100 but never used it.
