D7500 Lens Compatability

I have 3 lenses that were used on a Nikon FN-1 (film SLR):
Nikon AF-Nikor 35-80mm
Nikon Series E 50mm 1:1.8
Nikon Series E 35mm 1:2.5

I read somewhere that all Nikon SLR lenses should work on all Nikon DSLR cameras. Is that true?
Would these work on my D7500?

Would there be any benefits to using them on the D7500? Better pictures, lower f stop, etc.
I understand it would be all manual operation.

Any thoughts, advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are these AI lenses? If so, according to Nikon Lens Compatibility chart, see https://www.nikonusa.com/Images/Lea...You/Media/NIKKOR-lens-compatibility-chart.pdf you will have to use a light meter. Another reason many of us consider the D7500 a crippled camera.
