Strange flare with D750 thatís been sitting for a while

After having my D750 sit for a couple of months. Recently went on a vacation and began to notice a strange flare occurring in most of my images. If my settings were just right I wouldnít notice it. But if it was under or over exposed a little bit it would show itself again. Had three different lenses so I know itís not some kind of lens flare. Was working with a nikkor 50mm 1.8, tokina 100mm 2.8, & tokina 16-24 2.8. Ended up cleaning my image sensor after the trip with no change. Any thoughts what could cause this?

I think you’re on to something 480sparky! Didn’t cross my mind, but I am missing the rubber eyepiece as I just looked at my camera. I’ll do some more tests in the morning when the sun is around again.

If the exposure is short, I just use my hand held next to the VF. Sometimes, I can get the lens cap to catch the top of the VF and just hang there. I've also used a glove, a hat, even a handkerchief.

    Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

Sorry about your problem, but I also suspect some sort of light leak. The rubber eyepiece is there for a reason.

If you're shooting in LiveView mode, it would certainly explain it.

Even if not in LV mode, without something covering the VW it's a possibility.
