on my D750, when i use off camera speedlights and i try to change flash power from the camera, my lcd screen shuts off. i've set my prefs to keep the lcd display on and this only seems to happen when i'm using the CLS and adjusting flash power levels for diff speedlights. the screen lights up and never shuts down when i shift from TTL/Manual/off settings...only when i select flash power and try to adjust them. is there something stupid i'm doing or do i have a problem with my camera ??

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

What flash units are you using?

sb-600, sb-910, sb-400 and a few other non-nikon speedlights like my old vivitar, plus some studio monoblocs
been shooting with the D750 for a couple years but spending more time setting up my studio :-(
i use cactus triggers too, but am hoping to get this problem fixed since i need the CLS option sometimes

i've had no probs with offcamera speedlights firing using CLS as long as i stay within the range parameters, etc. but this problem is bugging me and hope it's happened to others and been dealt with so i don't have to send the camera in

First off welcome to the forum. Sorry I can't help you with the CLS systems. I found them less than reliable so I switched over to radio triggers and they are much easier to use.

been awhile and the problem still exists so here's some more background. i don't think it is caused by the CLS system per se. if i stay in one menu for extended times it will happen. since i shoot a lot of portraits and use a lot of OCF in manual modes i tend to use that menu more than othersactually, CLS has been rock solid unless i get careless and stray outside the parameters :)it's definitely not timing out :)but if anyone can think of any reason why the LCD might shut off on it's own, i'd like to hear about it
