Set aperature & shutter help

When I'm shooting in manual, say I set the camera to f/5.6 and shutter to 1/160 when I take the shot, then when I want to take another shot, the camera automatically changes the settings. I thought in manual, when I put in my settings it will keep it until I change them or switch out of manual, but that is not the case. How do I set/lock my aperture & shutter speed? Do I just have something setup wrong with my shooting mode?

Thanks

That is unusual.
When I turn the dial to "M" on any of my Nikons I've never noticed that either the aperture no shutter speed change.
Someone with more "M" experience will have to wade in on this one.

Do you have your camera set of Auto ISO?
