Shutter problem is back.

Shutter won't open all the way just like before I left for Florida. Taken the batteries out , but this time it is not doing any good.

This seems to be a different shutter problem then the one I had last year where the shutter just broke in pieces. nikon replaced the shutter, sensor and a few other things back then and gave me a 60 day warranty on the work they did. https://nikonites.com/d750/34886-shutter-failure-my-d750-morning.html

This was last year, so I may have to eat the repairs myself this time. We'll see.

Doh... that sucks.

Could it be the mirror though? I would expect the shutter to lead to vignetting or similar, that looks like the mirror didn't get completely out of the way...but then with mirrors and how the image hits the sensor, maybe the mirror would show up on the bottom of the image???

You may be right. I took a cell pick with the camera off, and then with the "lock mirror up" for cleaning.

Lens off, camera off.

Sorry to hear you're running into more problems with your D750. :(

Thanks. In the meantime, I'm ordering a D500. Don't know if I should get the refurb or new however.

Adorama had the refurb priced higher than Abes of Maine, which is brand new. Yeah, I've been looking at the D500 too! Let me know what prices and where you find them the cheapest. Good luck with the D750.

Anywho, I'm sending it back to Nikon. We'll see what the estimate is and go from there. It's really a shame, because I really love this camera.

If I do get a refurb, it will be mot likely from KEH. They are a 100 dollars higher, but you get a 1 year warranty instead of 90 days from Adorama.

It looks like that this 0304171432.jpg part is showing up in the shots._DSC8829.jpg

Anyone know what that part is, and why is it standing up blocking part of the sensor?

The angle makes me think it's part of the mirror system. Like when the mirror swings up, this should swing down and out of the way. It's obvious that part is what is causing the problem, but I've never seen that part in any DSLR I've seen.

Thanks. It's a light baffle. Looks like it's doesn't get out of the way of the mirror.
