    Shutter problem is back.

    Shutter problem is back.
Shutter won't open all the way just like before I left for Florida. Taken the batteries out , but this time it is not doing any good.

This seems to be a different shutter problem then the one I had last year where the shutter just broke in pieces. nikon replaced the shutter, sensor and a few other things back then and gave me a 60 day warranty on the work they did. https://nikonites.com/d750/34886-shu...0-morning.html

This was last year, so I may have to eat the repairs myself this time. We'll see.

    Doh... that sucks.

Could it be the mirror though? I would expect the shutter to lead to vignetting or similar, that looks like the mirror didn't get completely out of the way...but then with mirrors and how the image hits the sensor, maybe the mirror would show up on the bottom of the image???

You may be right. I took a cell pick with the camera off, and then with the "lock mirror up" for cleaning.

    Lens off, camera off.

That stinks Pete. Hope you are able to get it fixed and Nikon will make it good (free).

Thanks. In the meantime, I'm ordering a D500. Don't know if I should get the refurb or new however.

Buy two and ship one to me. I will keep it in a safe place for when your other one breaks down.

Adorama had the refurb priced higher than Abes of Maine, which is brand new. Yeah, I've been looking at the D500 too! Let me know what prices and where you find them the cheapest. Good luck with the D750.

Anywho, I'm sending it back to Nikon. We'll see what the estimate is and go from there. It's really a shame, because I really love this camera.
