Pulled The Trigger!!!

I've been having an internal struggle deciding between the D7200 and D750.

Well kids...I pulled the trigger!

My local store had a brilliant offer on a D750 that was just too good to pass up. For 12 hours only, they knocked $500 off the normal price, $200 cash back redemption through Nikon and a $100 gift card!

It's certainly a big step up from my little workhorse D5100. I know I've got plenty to learn, but I'm looking forward to the challenge and getting my hands dirty.

I've been really impressed with its capabilities so far...a new adventure begins!

Cheers Andrew

Congrats @Secksy007. Looking forward to seeing some shots and learning what lens you will chase to replace your DX lens. Sounds like it was an outstanding deal.

Hi Danno

I wanted a 24-70 to compliment the 70-300 I have. I couldn't afford the Nikon, but I got the Tammy at a good price and in the short time I've had it, I've liked the results.

Do you mean the Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD?

That's one of my favorite lenses for my D750; it's a workhorse lens and has stunningly good IQ.

Yes I do Horoscope Fish. As a newbie I really don't have much experience with lenses, but it seems like a really solid unit. Plus (again I come from limited knowledge 🙃) it focuses super quickly!

From everything I've read, the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 is a good choice for your D750 and should work well for your church photography. It will also work well on your D5100.

Congrats on the lens too. Sounds like you have a great set up for your Church. One other lens you might consider is an ultra-wide angle lens for those stage shots I use my Sigma 10-20 f3.5 in our church. It seats about 700 and I can include much of the congregation when I take a shot of the stage. Of course this is a DX lens on my D7200. It works well for candle light services that we have at Christmas and Kids programs. We have a lot of kids in the church.

I know for FX they can be expensive... I know Tokina has a 16-28 f/2.8 that is inexpensive. Just something else to think about. I know others here could give better feedback on an ultra-wide angle lens for FX.

Again, congrats and God bless.

Thanks for the advice Danno. Yes the next purchase (when I have more funds) I'm considering is an ultra wide lens.

God Bless mate.
