Continous shooting only shoots 2 frames

I am just starting out with a new D750. I'm shooting in RAW mode only, in full manual. I selected Ch, expecting to get 6.5 frames a seconds, but I get 2 frames, and that's all. I even tried Cl and I still got only 2 frames. The camera says "r 15", which I think means it has memory for 15 continuous frames. It has 64 Gigs of memory of class 10. What am I doing wrong?

Could it be that you accidentally activated the Bracket button with 2 exposures selected? This would cause exactly the symptoms you describe.

OMG you are correct. I just pushed the bkt button and changed it to 3, and tested, and got 3 shots. But I cannot figure out how to turn it off.

Class 10 is not the only thing you need to look for. What is the read/write speed of the SD card.

I worked on this problem when I first switched over. I had shot a kayak going over a waterfall and was shooting in RAW and only got about 6 or 7 frames before it went into slow down mode so I only got 2 shots of it actually going down. I had a card that although it said that is ws a class 10 card with a 80MBs speed but in checked the specs on the internet I found that the write speed was only 35MBs. I changed the D750 to JPEG fine and did a burst check and only got about 30 or so frames before the slow down. I ordered some new SD cards that have a 95MBs write speed and tested it again and it now hits 100 frames before the slow down. In RAW it is somewhere around 35 or so frames (I don't remember the exact number right now) before it slowed down which is about where it should be in RAW.

This is what I now shoot in my D750
[h=1]SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB UHS-I/U3 SDHC Flash Memory Card with up to 95MB/s- SDSDXPA-032G-X46[/h]

  • Read Up To 90MB/s/ Write Up To 95MB/s

Check the write speed in the cards you use now.
