Wireless flash triggers for D750 + Neewer flashes?

Ok so I am looking for a good wireless trigger setup that doesn't break the bank (ie. PocketWizard's).

Recently I ordered a set of Godox Cells II triggers for Nikon as they seemed like the hot ticket. Then I did some in depth research on them while waiting for them to come, and apparently for whatever reason they don't work on the D750 nor do they apparently work with my flashes?! What gives.

What triggers are you guys using and how do you like them?

you have to check what flashes you want. and what features you want. if you want manual power for the oCF then go with the excellent flashes 560III/IV with 603II triggers. and you can mount a flash on your trigger as well. id never get a trigger where I couldnt mount a flash on the camera slave. huge mistake.

622N MK2 should be out soon and I just posted a new shanny flash with radio trigger inside. so keeping an eye out on them. might sell evberything and go with 6 of the shanny flashes.

I've got the Yongnuo 622s and the Phottix Stratos (both TTL and non-TTL triggers). I've been happy with both, but prefer the 622 with the on-camera controller for making manual flash changes remotely. The same functionality is available with Phottix as well, but requires the Odin controller.

It sounds like there have been some complaints about minor changes with the hot shoe on the D750, and from the last lighting workshop I attended people with the D750 were complaining about all sorts of radio triggers not firing consistently. My suggestion is to get hands on knowledge with any trigger(s) you're looking at and make sure they work good with your D750 before buying. Worst case, make sure you have a good return policy in case there are problems.

Yongnuo triggers are solid, many people use them without issue.

I bought every one of my Pocketwizard units used (1 - Plus III and 3 - PlusX). If you are patient you can find some nice deals.

Well my Godox units seem to work as manual triggers... No TTL functionality or ability to change flash settings from the camera, but they do at least trigger the flashes. That's a start I suppose!

My wife probably wouldn't appreciate me posting this pic but I was playing with my flashes in a dark living room to see how it worked at distance and what not. This was a flash in front and a flash behind, both bounced off of the ceiling.

curious to know if youre having issues firing the 622 with the D750? I plan on getting the camera. when they finally fix issues with it.

When we had the OCF workshop in Little Rock at the end of June, one of the shooters in my group was using a D750. We rotated through a couple of setups, but if I remember right she had some intermittent issued with both PocketWizard and Yongnuo triggers. Resetting the tcvr in the hot shoe would correct for one shot, then fail again.

I had seen some reports in the D750's hot shoe having a slight design difference over previous models, but this was the first I'd seen a D750 shooter actually have problems with the hot shoe.

This combo seems to work flawlessly with fully operation remote high speed sync & TTL. Thanks for the suggestion on the Yongnuo setup.
