D750 and Sigma Art 24-105mm f/4

I'm planning to buy a walk-around lens and Sigma 24-105mm is on my shortlist.
My only concern is the AF speed and accuracy.
Sigma has to reverse engineer the AF on Nikon cameras and since D750 is a new camera, its AF capability may not be 100% compatible with this 2-yr-old lens. Perhaps a Sigma USB dock is the solution but it adds to the cost.
Any comments?
Thanks.

I will tell you that my Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 is not fully compatible with the D750. However, they told me I could just send it in to get the firmware upgraded and it would work. I haven't gotten around to it because it still works, but there is a catch. I use back button AF and I have to press the button once to "wake it up" and then press it again for it to focus. It seems to focus fine in all AF modes, but it gets a little bit annoying when taking action shots. If I haven't "primed" it, I might miss a shot.

So I wouldn't be surprised if the 24-105mm has the same issue, but maybe someone who actually has it can chime in.

Hi,

that's quite a difference...
Never thought about the Nikon 24-120 f4 VR lens?
Maybe used?
I bought mine used, 2 years young, for about $ 650,-.
A very good walking around lens, good quality and a very good reach.

Thanks, Ad B.
I was thinking about it as a kit lens but I finally decided to buy D750 as body only.
Now with 16-35mm f/4 I'm not sure if I need a walk-around lens anymore (I already have 50mm and 70-200mm).

The Sigma Art series are very good, but to my surprise the 24-105 did not rate as highly as the others in the series.
