I Upgraded

I purchased a D5100 when they first came out. I enjoy this Camera.
I have many DX lenes. 35mm, 50mm, 18-55mm, 70-300mm, 18-105mm.
My son wants to get into Photography and asked me to buy him a D7000..
Hes just started High School and takes photos for the Year Book and sport events..
I found a like new on KEH and was just about to order it when an Ad for Abe' of Main popped up.
Nikon D7200 sale.. Bells and Whistles start ringing in my head.
So I ordered the D7200 for myself and will give my son the D5100.
We can share all the lenes. Oh, I order also 18-140mm for me..
Can' wait til it arrives

D5100 will make a great starter camera for him. If he sticks with it then he can buy buy himself what ever he wants. Looking forward to seeing some of those pictures from that D7200.

Thanks. He's been using my old P80 Nikon and i taught him Lightroom and other programs.. I'm an old School 35mm shooter from the 70's.. I still have and used a few times my Miranda DX3.. I purchased in 1975.
I agree, I think the D5100 will do him well.. Whens hes ready to move up, I'll give him my new D7200 thats on the way.. and I might go D850 or something.

Congratulations. You will find the D7200 and big step up from the D5100.
