    Question.........

I purchased a new, body only, D7200 a few months ago. From day one I've noticed that all lens attach to the body tightly......almost too tightly? Certainly tighter than my D5200. I researched and found some others having the same comments, some commenting about other models too, or specific lens fitting tightly. I don't recall any saying it affected performance. I don't have any complaints either.......well, maybe one. I've had to blow some dust out of the body twice now.......is there a relation to the tightness issue? IDK. Anyway, opinions on whether this is something to worry about or not? Thanks!

Thanks guys. I don't have the experience to ascertain whether this is no big deal or not. I wouldn't even know how it could be "fixed". There is no "hang up" when screwing it onto the body, but it definitely takes a bit more torque to get on than my D5200. I really thought that maybe the tolerances were just tighter? Aside from the dust issue (which does annoy me), I see no quality issues so far. Maybe my D5200 is too loose LOL

As I think back, I did have one of my camera bodies where lenses were tighter than usual. In time it wore in I guess.

I was thinking, hoping, this might be the case as well. It's not like I am seeing metal shavings or anything similar.......but I do get a little paranoid that maybe some type of surface/mating material is the "dust" that is getting into the body when I change lens......
Oh well, we are talking about a new (expensive to me LOL) camera and a worry wart owner. We will soldier on!

My 24-120 and 70-300 fit my 7100 tighter than the kit lens fit the 5100.

I'll have to check, but I believe my kit lens 18-55 (D5200) fits a bit looser on my D7200 body as well.
