fee - help me

I am having trouble with d7200 and 60mm f/2.8 D nikon lens. Note that this combination has worked before.

The lens is set to f/32. the aperture ring locked. When I put it on the camera the display shows 'fEE' :'(
i tried cleaning the metal contacts on the lenses and body but it's not worked.

I also have a d700 body- and the 60mm f2.8d lens works fine on that, as-is.

Any other ideas. help me please !!!

Thanks,

Thats usually a case of not setting the aperture ring, or dirty contacts. You've not accidentally let the lens control the f-stop instead of the camera controlling it as this throws up a fee message (if you shoot in Aperture control). The only other thing i can think is if the lens isn't locked correctly. Beyond that a possible sensor malfunction in the camera. Have you tried re cleaning the contacts on the D7200?
I must admit i'm no expert with older lenses, so maybe others might have some more ideas. Good luck

The lens does not need to be locked. The lock mechanism is strictly mechanical and the camera has no means of communication with the lens to determine if it has been locked or not.

The lock is ONLY there to prevent accidentally moving the aperture ring.

that is correct but once you move the aperture ring to a setting other than the number that is orange labelled f-stop (f22 on my 50mm and f32 on the posters 60mm) then you will get the "FEE" error, when you move it back the error goes away.

The original posted stated that it is locked and the lens works on his D700 so the lock doesn't seem to be the problem.

This lens may need setting up in the 'non cpu lens data' menu under the spanner icon, so the camera can recognise it.
