Finally Pulled the Trigger

After about two months of shopping around and comparing prices, I finally pulled the trigger on a new D7200.

Selected the camera body only because I already have the two kit lenses from my old camera (18-55mm and 55-200mm) also have 50mm f1.8 and a 105mm f14 Macro. Decided to stretch things a little and added the 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6.

I went with Adorama because their prices were the same but they added a lot of free accessories for the body and for the lens. Had everything shipped in to work because I don't want it sitting on the step all day waiting for me to get home.

Good news / Bad news.

Good news = UPS tracking says the camera and lens will ve delivered Monday to the place I work.

Bad news = Friday afternoon, my right lung collapsed. I'm now in a comfy room with a drain tube sticking out of my chest. Monday I have surgery to remove some of the bad parts of my lung.

My son has offered to go by work and get the shipment and carry it home for me.at least, once discharged, I'll be forced to read the manual because I won't be able to do more than sit.

As far as the surgery goes, removal of the damaged parts will allow the good parts to work more easily. Time will tell. Actually I'm am not as stressed about the surgery, as I am about not getting to play with the camera.

Good luck with the surgery!!

The good thing is this will be a positive in the recovery to want to get out and play with it! However you MUST take your time to let it recover properly ! :)

Have the camera brought up to the hospital room ... you can start working on it from in the bed.

Congrats on the purchase, but more importantly heal up quick!

Just an update. Doc says the operation was a success. Overall, they removed about 10% of the lung tissue on the right side. As I guessed, it was a very easy operation, I slept through the whole thing.

The camera is sitting on my desk t work. Trying to make arrangements to get it home. As much as I'd like to have it here at the hospital, I just don't think that would be a secure idea.

I'm due to be released on Friday so aye I can get Pat to swing by work for a quick transfer from desk to car.
