I Bought a Refurbished / New 7200

Well, I have been saving for a while to move from my D3200 to a D7200. I got the email about the one day sale and I bought it. UPS delivered it yesterday afternoon.

I will admit that I am a bit overwhelmed by the menus... probably will be for a while, but I did figure out how to set up the back focus button and enough of the basics to start shooting as I read the manual a few times.

I loved my D3200, but this 7200 is amazing.

I checked the shutter count this morning... It has 50. I think I put most of them on there yesterday afternoon taking pictures of the walls figuring out some of the basics :)

Excellent, nice to see D7200s making it to the refurb market, more savings for buyers :)

I went from a D40 to a D7100, I feel your pain. Enjoy the new gear

I could not pass on the price... $799... I had been looking at refurbished and they had started listing them a bit ago, but at $999... I could save for a bit longer for new... but $799... could not pass that up.

Initially I went from a 35mm film camera to a D90 and had one week to figure out its settings before putting it to use! Since you are already familiar with some of the options available on your D3200, it is really a matter of learning the new way to make and change those settings on your D7200. Have fun with it and please be sure to show us some of the images you are taking. ;)

Congrats on a terrific camera! :)

Very good Danno. Having just purchased a D7100 Refurb, I know the price drop "Gotcha" It's hard to turn your back on. Ha! You will enjoy your new "tool/toy". The learning curve is just a big part of the fun.

The book you recommended came yesterday afternoon. I have been looking through it. It is very good... seems to be very complete. Thank you for the suggestion.

Wouldn't you know that I get a new camera and the weather goes to gray... I am playing with it some and I am amazed at how well it works. I did get a shot of my dog Jersey. Also been fooling with B&W storm clouds. I really enjoy this camera. It is quite a change, but with the help of YouTube and the new book I bought I have gotten started getting familiar with it. Still learning, but I love it. The focus is so much quicker.

Well, I am loving this camera. Been reading the guide book I bought it has been very helpful... a lot easier to weed thru than the manual. Color photos and very detailed descriptions.
Took photos at Church using Auto ISO set at 6400 and I am amazed at the clarity... Too much fun. I am glad I started photography with the D3200, but I am so happy that I was able to make the jump to this D7200. Loving it.
