Wi-fi questions

One of my great joys is my living room camera. Yes, a camera that basically stays in the living/dining room and is used to capture the things my wife cooks, the dog being upside-down and throwing his toys, or my kids doing what kids do. The current camera is a D5100. Lovely camera, great images, but it won't AF with the older lenses nor can I meter with some of them. I use an Eye-fi card and it's dead simple. I take a photo and it's sent to my PC as well as my smugmug online gallery.

A recent user post asked about doing the same sort of thing, so I recommended an eye-fi card, but then I got to wondering, can a modern Nikon do the same thing? All the wi-fi enabled cameras seem to be focused on interacting with a smartphone. I don't need that.

Can the D7200 wi-fi pictures to my PC or would the eye-fi card still be necessary?

I've tried it with my laptop and nothing happens. Unless someone comes up with some sort of hack or program that let's you do this you're probably better off with the Eye-Fi card.
