When I bought my 7200 I was able to use the wifi with no problems at all. Recently it stopped working any ideas of why?

Thanks
Paul :(

Thanks Don,
I was able to use the nikon wifi app on my note 4 with no issues about a month or two ago it will no longer stay connected to my phone. I forget my home network it will connect and then go back to an open status

I have a D7100 so it does not have the built in WiFi but I do have a WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter. I use it with my iPhone so a different situation completely. Mine would never stay connected long enough to download a photo until someone suggested turning the phone into airline mode. That works like a charm.

Not sure how the Note 4 works but it sounds like something has changed. Just start from the beginning and recheck all the settings on the camera and phone to make sure all is correct.

Sorry I can't be more help

Also, I would try to remove the connection from your phone and try to re-negotiate it. With iPhones you select "Forget this Network". So when you reconnect it re-establishes a new connection. Not sure what the equivalent would be with the Note 4 but it's worth a shot.

Strange. I use my D7200 with my Nexus 5 and I don't seem to have this issue.

It seems like my phone keeps scanning and disconnects the wifi. I looked on the intra net and nothing to get the phone to stop scanning. I am not sure what is going on ;(

With the WU adapters, many recommend using the mobile device in 'Airplane' mode while connecting to the camera. Have you tried that?

Hi, I use my d5300 with both the Nikon app and the DSLR Dashboard app (which I prefer). When using the Nikon app I never have issues but for some reason I do if using the dashboard? Real pain as the DSLR Dashboard gives me FULL control of all camera settings witlessly while the Nikon app only allows me to trigger the shutter and download the photo. Haven't tried airplane mode though...thanks for the suggestion.

I haven't had any problems with wifi on my D7200, but I have issues on my daughter's D3200 and adapter regardless of whether I'm using her phone, my phone, or my tablet. What I've found to work is to first disconnect whichever device I'm using from the wifi that it is currently connected to, THEN while it has no current wifi connections, connect to the Nikon adapter. When I do this it works like a charm. If I don't follow these steps it constantly hunts and drops the Nikon connection.

Unfortunately, Nikon's wifi adapters are notorious for constantly losing connection. At least you found a workaround.

Resurrecting this thread from the past. It's now New Years Eve 2019. I used the camera for a massive family photo and the card won't read with any of my computers, but it still reads in the camera, so I am resorting to the WU-1a adapter (wipes dust off). I too had the same problem folks above said. I tried every iterations possible, but I eventually got it to work. I did do the 10-second reset a few times, so that may have aided too. The clincher was the airplane mode. Once I was able to connect to it in airplane mode, opened the Nikon WMU app on the iPhone and clicked the wifi signal in the top left corner. Once that icon turned to connected I was finally able to connect long enough to get 24 photos downloaded. It would die out at about 10% without the airplane mode. I'm hoping to upgrade soon to a phone from this decade (yay, the roaring 20s!). Good luck to you all.

Summary: Reset the adapter by holding down for 10 seconds until the light becomes orange. Turn the phone off. Turn on. Turn on airplane mode. Connect in Wifi settings. Connect in App. Start downloading.

I usually do, but for some reason didn't this time.

Anytime you see an old thread resurrected from a new member, and the post has a one-work link, it is spam.
Anytime you see an old thread resurrected with some lame compliment, they are likely spamming with a link in their profile. It happens all the time.
There were a couple of posts recently that had links to leather straps.

The links don't jump out at me since we've switched to the new forum. They're the same color.

Edit: Banned him.
