D7200 the facts

The WiFi would be a nice addition but in itself not worth the upgrade. The only thing that might tempt me would be the Expeed 4 processor. I wonder how much if any difference it will make. I am sure the stats will show that it is better but I am wondering if our eyes will see it.

The two things i would like the most are related to the lack of decent light we get in the uk,lower light/contrast AF and at least a stop higher with what i call usable ISO,cant work out if it has these or not.

I'm surprised how cheap it is body only. Too bad the kit lens adds another 500 bucks to it. Must be a big upgrade over the one that comes with previous cameras. Debating whether I should get it as well but the camera itself is so worth it. Massive upgrade from my D3100.

There is no doubt that I would upgrade to it from my original D3100. That is a night and day difference. The 18-140 is a $500 retail lens and is worth every penny of it. Your 18-55 really won't hack it with the D7200 or at least it did not with my D7100. 24mp shows all the deficiencies a lens has. Not sure about the 55-300 but it might. I shoot with the 70-300 and it is a gem. Your 50mm would be wonderful.

Go ahead and order it as soon as it hits.

Oh believe me I have every intention of getting the 18-140mm. The extra focal range alone is good enough for me, I just didn't realize the lens cost so much on its own (if it's the same one as the one that comes with the D7100, D5300, etc.) Luckily I have about 1000 saved up from some construction jobs I worked last winter that I've been saving for this (I planned FAR ahead) and I have over 100 bucks in gift cards so a few more shifts and I'll be set to buy it.

I will probably wait for reviews but that's just me being cautious. lol

That's a pretty good price for body only, but I guess you do need a lens. :) (Surprised to hear that the 18-55 doesn't hack it on the D7100)

Very interested to hear what you guys have to say about it when you get yours.

Thanks

A conversion of £780,so at least £1000 in the uk
In Canadian it's $1400 body only but with the the kit lens the price only raises to $1750 which is excellent. This is already such a sweet start to the week.

I bet it will be like the D7100 was. There were deals on it almost as soon as it came out. I think I paid 1200 for the body plus the 18-140.
That would be amazing. As much as I would love to buy it now I'll be biding my time a little just in case. I'm literally shaking with excitement though. lol

The 18-105 though works great. I have one sitting on the shelf. The wife only uses her 18-200. I guess I need to sell the 18-105.

Honestly, now that I think about it, I'm gonna wait and see what reviews say. If it's not a lot better than the D7100 I might just get the D7100 instead for half the price. We'll see.
