D7200/D9300 leaked? Possibly.

8 fps means nothing if the buffer fills in a second.

This is pure vapor, and the high end ISO number is wrong (should be 12800), but they've been lagging for a while on a pro DX so I'm not surprised that something might be coming. Even if I shot video it wouldn't bother me since I'd probably already have an FX camera for it. If they do it, I hope they give me at least a year for it - I've got bills to pay.

With these rumored specs, there does not seem to be any compelling reason to upgrade from a D7100. A few more FPS? A slightly better AF system.... i would be keeping my D7100 if i still had it. On the other hand, since it is all speculation at this point, perhaps it is not even a successor to the 7100. Who knows!

Nikon D7200/D9300 specifications, maybe | Nikon Rumors

Not bad, but no built-in Wifi or 4k video? Boo. The rest is good enough for me. Especially 8 fps. That should make people happy. Still, this is pretty damn early so there's hope. Or it might be nothing. Still, keeping the fingers crossed.
Interesting... Incremental upgrades but some nice ones. Let's hope the buffer has been enlarged to better handle the faster fps/burst modes.

72 focus points, f/10 supported by 39 [cross type] sensors
I must say I like that but since they're sticking with the Multi-CAM auto-focus module all those points will still be centered in the viewfinder (not spread out across the whole of the frame like so many of us would like to see happen).

....

Of course it's vapor, even NR says it might not be true. Doesn't mean I can't be hopeful. ;)

Wasn't poking at you or the fact that you posted, I'm just saying it's too early to surmise what it is or isn't and the stuff in there isn't anything we haven't seem or wanted to see before. Heck, the D750 had a D810 body up until the release announcement so even when you know it's coming you don't know what's coming. The first "D9300" rumors hit in March of this year, so there's something on the stove but it's more likely in the slow cooker.

Oh I know, just agreeing with you.

If the AF system was true, that could be interesting (implications for the pro systems in the future perhaps?), but otherwise I agree ... nothing I would upgrade my D7100 over.

If it has group area AF, a large buffer, bigger better body, sticks with dual SD cards, and that new fangled shutter like the D4s. No low pass filter sony sensor, that could be fun. And if the grip is a bit deeper than the D7100, then I'll probably bite.

If they make it a pro body (D4 ish) with a large buffer they may finally have the Pro Dx model. Too late for me, great for you guys that have held out!

I believe there trying to compete with Canons 7d mrk11 which is an impressive DX camera. I've wanted to upgrade on the DX side but am waiting to see what it is they'll unveil.

Yes I think that Nikon has to have and answer to 7d-II, else they will loose more to their rival.

I'll be keeping my 7100 for a while longer. I can't keep up with the "Jones'es". Reminds me of Apple products way back when, I couldn't keep up with their releases either, I am not wealthy enough.

I was just about ready to pull the trigger on the D7100 for Christmas. I don't mind waiting a few more months for an upgraded model. If the rumor is true, is it worth the extra money for the changes listed for a D7200 or should I get the D7100 which has come down in price as of late (maybe because something new is coming????)
