    Lunar Eclipse

I was was out the other night and took a number of shots of the lunar eclipse with my D7000 and a 200mm lens. The images came out dark with the exception of the sliver of white on the moon that wasn't in the eclipse. The preview looked fine when imaging.
When transferred to Photoshop and when I clicked on Auto Tone, the colors on the eclipsed portion of the moon returned, albeit the wrong colors. Further Photoshop adjustments didn't correct the color. Again when imaging,
the eclipsed colors were correct (redish-orange).

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Welcome! You might consider posting the image to help others assist you. The preview often looks fine but it is really quite a small image.

Did you adjust your white balance in Photoshop, Camera RAW, Lightroom, or whatever software you are using? An overall shift in colors can be corrected by changing the white balance.
