Nikon D7100 problem. Help please!

Hello. I have a nikon d7100 bought as a second hand last year, so the warranty is gone. It perfectly worked perfectly till I've encountered this problem that really frustrates me.
It happens from time to time.. but in the last days it happens too often... And the myghty google does not give me an answer :(
The problem it's like this: i take some pictures... Works fine, but suddenly it shuts down and on the small screen on top it shows a battery that blinks it the camera is open.. and it not blinking if i shut down the camera... It just sits there and it doesn't let me do anything. The problem persists if i change the lens, change the battery. After a while it works...
At first i thought it happened because of low temperature outside(-2 or -4 degrees celsius) but it happened to me again just theese days at + 15 degrees celsius... So the temperature is not the cause.
These days it did not autofocused too.. had my nikon 35mm 1.8g on the body and i hat to manually focus.. then went dead as before just showing the battery icon on the small screen as before.
One other symptom was that if i let my lenses on af it showed the battery icon on top.. but if i set the lenses o manual focus it works.. but only for very short time.
So... I did a reset my camera settings only to make it work for a short time.
I'm really frustrated... What to do? If I'll do a contacts clean it should work? Did not tried this yet cause i don't have solution for contacts clean and i don't want to rub tem with eraser as i've seen on google...
Have anyone experienced the same problem?

Definitely sounds like a contact problem, with the camera not making proper contact with the battery. Clean the contacts of your camera and of the battery. I would use an electronic contact spray AND a fine bristle brush to restore the contact.

Thanks for the answer. Just bought a contact cleaner spray... I only found some at the auto section.. do you think it ok? It says on it it's ok for a wide range of electrical contacts...

so.. i did some cleaning on my camera and lenses contacts... camera contacts were almost clean.. just a little bit of dirt on them.. but thew mount.. eeewwww lots of dirt when i passed the qtip on it.. same with all my lenses mount.. and.. i clean my camera pretty often.. but so far i used a rocket blower (a giottos one) and a fine brush... nothing la contact solution.. so i was pretty shocked to see how much dirt was on the mounts of all of them.. cleaned the battery compartment contacts even if they didn't have vertigris on 'em..and cleaned as i could the contacts from both batteries.... let them about 8-10 mins to be shure that they are all dried and cheched my camera with both batteries and all my lenses.. for now it focuses right.. no stumping so far.. i'll update this if any other problem comes back.

Just so you know... The rated environment temp range for that camera is

"Temperature: 0 to 40°C/32 to 104°F; humidity: 85% or less (no condensation)" as published by Nikon...

That doesn't mean it definitively fails outside those ranges (as the numerous following posts will attest to) but it certainly would be a "caution" area to consider with a camera as it ages...

Thanks for the notice, i knew those ranges. I have a friend who owned for a while a d7100 and shot with it at much lower temp... Like -20 degrees celsius.. had absolutely no problems. Guess i was not that lucky...
