Panjo?

I posted elsewhere on the forum about a problem with a used D7000 that I purchased and ultimately had to return. I decided to get a D71000 instead of the D7000 based upon feedback from the forum (can't justify getting a D7200 right now). In search of another camera, I noticed there was a marketplace here and was redirected to Panjo, which I admit I am completely unfamiliar with. I saw a D7100 listed with a pretty low shutter count. The seller is new (I think) to the sales site.

Does anyone have experience buying or selling through Panjo? It looks like they have a 30 day guarantee but it is not hugely clear what they cover. I think they cover if the item is not delivered or it arrives damaged. I am not sure what they mean by that--do they only cover if damaged in transit or if the camera does not perform as advertised? So I definitely need to get some more information on the site and also understand what the ratings are based upon. The seller is rated a 70 which could mean the person is just new, or could mean something else. The person did offer to video conference to show me the camera, which I don't think I really need to do, but did speak to some pride of ownership.

Any insights will be appreciated. Hoping this camera is a keeper.

Many of the sellers are members of this forum but not all. If you would send me the link to the item I can at least tell you if they are regulars.

I checked and did not see a D7100 listed. When I searched it directed me to a D7000. Double check to see that it was indeed a D7100

Here is the link. The Panjo search engine, which is tag based, sucks IMHO. I had the same experience--7100 tag took me to a 7000 and I only found this item by accident. The person is willing to sell the camera body without lenses: https://www.panjo.com/buy/nikon-d7100-extras-365360

I am seriously considering the factory refurb. The one year warranty appeals. Need to figure out who the warranty is with--Nikon or a third party or... I have been burned on third party warranties.

One years warranties on Refurb'd Nikon cameras are usually from the Nikon dealer... An example, Robert's Camera is a very old Nikon Retailer/Dealer... They frequently extend the Nikon refurb warranty from the 90 days, to 1 year... They provide their own service.

In fact, I just checked. Robert's has a Used D7100 with <15,000 actuations, 6 month warranty for $548...looks pristine... and they sell a 2 year extended for something like $39

The store that I linked to has a great reputation. I have bought refurbished cameras and lenses from the several times. Never has a problem that needed service so can't tell you about that end but I do like the seller.

It is more than a camera body. But my question remains. Anyone know anything about Panjo? And in particular the seller ratings? Also, I floated an offer that is less than his asking price and he seems amenable.

Well, you snooze you lose! The person sold the equipment this morning so back to square one. But since Panjo does seem to be a buying/exchange service used by people on this board do hope to hear from folks who have used it. Many thanks.

I used it to post a couple of for sale ads but haven't used it to buy anything. Like Don said, if you see something, let him know the name of the seller, and he can tell you if it's someone from here. Otherwise, other places also offer Panjo's service so you just never know what the seller will be like.

Interesting question regarding the Trust Score on Panjo. It looks like they have some secret algorithm to make those determinations. I am guessing once their email, phone and PayPal are verified, they get a decent score and then it goes up once they make a good transaction. Somehow, I doubt you will find a score explanation beyond that. Maybe you can do an online chat with one of their reps. If you find out anything, please let us know. I am curios now.
