What Lens should I bring on my trip to Italy and France

I am very new to the photography world, as well as to this forum. I am going on my honeymoon to Italy and France this summer and I can not wait to photograph it. I currently own a Nikon d7100 with the following lens;
  • Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G
  • Nikon AF-S FX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G
  • Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8
  • Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200MM f/4-5.6

I was planning on Purchasing a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8

Being that it is my honeymoon, I only want to bring two lenses with me, and was planning on bringing the Sigma , and my 18-105 with me. Are there any other lenses I should consider instead of the Sigma in the $300-$600 range? Based on what I own/will own, am I bringing the right combo of lenses with me?

Since there is so much overlap between the Nikon 18-105mm and the Sigma 17-50mm, I would instead consider the sigma 17-50mm and the Nikon 55-200mm. On the other hand, if the IQ of the 18-105mm is much better than the 55-200mm, you might want to consider the Sigma 10-20mm f3.5 lens as this would give you a lot more wide angle and a lot less overlap in your lenses.

you are going to be on your honeymoon and you want to take pictures? I think this should have been posted under dumb jokes. :) just kidding. 18- 105mm works for me and may be a 70-300mm.

I would be happy to just go with the 17-50. If I was to take a 2nd lens, I would want a wide one ( Sigma 10-20 or Tokina 11-16 for example ) but that would probably put you over budget.

Thank you everyone, Definitely going to pick up the sigma. I didn't think about the 55-200 as an option but I guess it does make sense.

I would not recommend handing your camera over to the person who will ask "Would you like for me to take a picture of you two together?" Not in those two countries.

Got an iPhone and a selfie stick for those photos. (I know it's horrible but works great on vacation ) born and raised in NYC I don't trust anyone.

It depends on what you're really looking to do. If you're looking to have time to set up your shots or spend time with your new wife?

I'd go with the Nikon the 55-200 because it's much smaller than the 17-200 - the EDII has a zoom lock to compact it down pretty small compared to earlier versions and the IQ is more than acceptable for tooling around while it covers a good range in daylight. I'd also take take the 35mm. Its a good portrait lens, it's compact for street photography, it goes below the zoom of the 55-200 and it's not very expensive if something bad happens.

I think you should try to consider that the larger the lens you're carrying around in a foreign country, the more of a target you can paint yourself. I haven't had any of my gear stolen, but I can point you to several who have...

Just my $.02
