Shoot raw and JPEG and assign 1 sd card to the raw and the other the Jpeg file? You would have 2 pictures with 1 actuation? Let me know! Paul

That is exactly how you can set this : Shooting Menu : Role Played by card in slot 2 : select the 3rd option : RAW slot 1 - JPEG Slot 2

It's doable, and I typically shoot both raw and jpg as well so I have a quick image pre-processed and can use the raw for further processing if needed.

I still prefer to write both the raw and jpg to both slots, so using the second slot as a backup. I'm basically getting four files per actuation, 2 raw and 2 jpg, but it protects me from a card failure and works into my archive strategy where I store one of the SD cards until my processing is complete ... just in case I have an accidental deletion or hard drive crash.

So how do the photos show up when you review them(on the camera). Is there anything I need to do to see card 1 and card 2? I don't have 2 cards right now and is why I'm asking. Paul

You mean when reviewing shots on the rear LCD? You scroll through your shots in the same way and when you reach the last image on one card you'll just roll-over onto the second card, seamlessly. The display will indicate what shot number is being viewed and which card you're viewing it from.
