Problem with D7100 and Samyang 85 mm

Samyang 85mm works great with my D810 and D800 but on the D7100 just shows F22 and the control wheels will not move the aperture....anyone got this combo?

Thanks in advance

That's it its at F22 ( D7100) on the lens and the camera says F22 and will not move with the wheel.....on the D800 set it at F22 and camera shows F1.4 unless you wheel it .

That's the problem to be solved

So no error? That makes me wonder.... There is a little-known menu item... under f5, aperture setting. This lets you use a d lens by the aperture ring rather than the command wheel. See if the aperture setting under f5 is set to use sub command dial.

You are a genius sir ...that's it ,,and now my tokina 400mm f5.6 works correctly as well ....
I probably had that turned off as its my wifes camera and she has her fingers everywhere poking this button and that dial as she handles the camera ..

Great Fantastic

Oh really? This is something I will definitely check out because I have a few AF-D lenses myself. Excellent info, Nick!
