7100 and Auto Bracketing, for a dummy

I watched a snippet on HDR imaging, then watched a 1.5 hour video on it, then spent the last four hours reading up on it and trying to figure out how set my 7100 for auto bracketing. No luck, can't figure it out.

I see the menus that show AB but I'm not following how to make it work. I did just get a 7100 so a lot of the menus are new to me. Is anyone familiar with how to setup a 7100 to shoot three continuous images with one press of a shutter that changes EV from -2 to 0 to 2.

I read that I should be using aperture priority and CL or CH.

On the left side by the lens there is a button marked {BKT} Press and hold that button while turning the front Wheel in front of the shutter release you can change the difference in exposure. I would suggest 1 or less instead of 2. Still holding the button down turn the rear wheel and you can change the number of shots. You can set it to 3 or 5. I always shoot 5 and that gives me a wide range to use or pick form to do the HDR. Set the shutter release to Ch to get it to high speed.

You do have to hold the shutter release down till it shoots all the shots though. I hand hold these shots for HDR all the time and Photoshop and NIK tools has no problems doing the HDR.

Don beat me to it, I was thinking you may not be holding the button down. Also the flash would prevent all 3 from going automatically. If you don't want to hold the shutter, the self timer should fire all 3 shots.

And don't do like I do and set it to 5 shots with 1 stop separation, and then go and take 5 individual shots of different subjects wondering why the exposure if off. :)

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I DONE THIS!!!!
I normally take a quick look at the the screen as the shot pops up so I at least notice the problem pretty quick.

Auto Bracketing is one of the best features in the D7100, unfortunately remembering to take it out of Auto bracket has been my downfall too many times, glad too hear I'm not the only one!!

I see how to shoot and process in the camera a two shot HDR image. Can you do more than that in camera or are you doing it on your PC?
