Isolate colour

Hi guys
I want to try isolating colours and the rest mono
i have done it in camera with red berries but they come out more orange
I only have Faststone editing which doesn't help
I also have an old PS 7 that I have not used because it's not a registered copy
with no updates or add ons or whatever they are, wouldn't know where to start with that
is in camera processing the only way and how could I get much better reds
I know one of you guys will help

Use ViewNX2 to generate 16 bit Tiff. Then use any of the free image processing programs to generate separate files for each of the three primary colours.

Much easier to do with software that allows you to selectively desaturate or select colors.

Are you trying to isolate just one color, or only one color within a region? Depending on which some tools are better than others, but I've found that the easiest way to do Selective Color is with layer masks in Photoshop or Elements, taking one color layer and one desaturated layer above it, and painting in the areas you want colors in the mask.
